Nat Treadway is a CAEM Senior Research
Fellow specializing in analysis of barriers to competition in the electric
industry and development of market and regulatory reforms to enhance
performance. From 1995 to 1999, he advised the Texas Public Utility
Commissioners as they focused on the electric utilities’ role in the
retail energy services sector. He took a leading role in promoting the
unbundling of utilities through the separation of distribution wires from
competitive energy services. In late 1998, he managed the development of
guidelines for the interconnection of distributed generation. He developed
and implemented resource planning rules that required utilities to
competitively procure power through long-term, bilateral contacts. Nat has
a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Princeton
University and an master’s degree in agricultural economics from Michigan
State. |
